So, what else do people listen to? I'm a lifelong Blur fan (i see lots of similarities between Spector and Blur sound wise!) and I also love The Horrors, The Cribs and a local (Yorkshire) band called The Mexanines - check them out, they're great - and about a million other bands. I'm currently listening to loads of Swim Deep and Tame Impala. If you get chance to see a band called Brother and Bones then go for it - amazing live band

My taste in music is quite Sheffield-centric, with Pulp (who i'm seeing at probably their last ever gig next weekend!) and Arctic Monkeys probably being my favourite bands. I didn't actually know the Spector drummer was from Sheffield until after I really got into them though! I'm also a big fan of The Killers, so it amuses me when Spector are incidentally constantly being likened to them by music journalists. For new bands, i'd recommend The Chevin, who have an album coming out here next February. Dead Sons are also one to look out for. If you get chance to see a band called Brother and Bones then go for it - amazing live band Will do!

^ The Chevin are a great band.
Kaiser Chiefs are a favourite of mine, slightly bias 'cause they're from Leeds.
These past few days i've had The Vaccines: Come of Age on repeat. Didn't like it at first and now I can't stop listening to it.

Wow! I love Pulp and I've seen them live twice... and Arctic Monkeys (also twice) and I didn't know Danny Blandy was from Sheffield - though i had noted his northern accent. I saw the Killers for the first time the other week and really enjoyed it, but can't see the similarities between them and Spector tbh - give me Spector any day I've seen The Chevin live too! They were great... AND... I'm from Leeds and love to see the Kaiser Chiefs when they're local; i just got my ticket for their big grand opening of the Leeds Arena next year. And i saw the Vaccines the other day too! Phew!
